The teams behind Martha’s Cafe and The Bottle Inn + the Slay Restaurant Group bring you SLAY Hermosa, a brand new Farm-to-Beach restaurant with retro beach club energy. Chef David Slay’s menu transformed this corner into the newest culinary hotspot in the South Bay. SLAY boasts ingredients grown on the Slay Vineyard, vintage coastal decor, and three different vibe dining areas. Come experience what everyone is talking about.
Absolutely amazing job decorating and love all of the different dining areas (rooftop, main dining, front patio). Food is unbelievable and cooked to perfection! Bacon wrapped scallops, steak sandwich, and sole were piping hot and delicious! Great variety on menu. Servers and everyone were so friendly and inviting! Can’t wait to come back!

B King5 StarWe were the first people in on a rainy Sunday Morning.
Tatum was our server, very warm and welcoming.
It's a cute small space, tastefully and comfortably decorated.
We started with the cinnamon roll which was fluffy warm and sweet, calamari was savory and crispy. Both 10-10..... that that I want to eat calamari and cinnamon rolls together...but when at Slay.... SLAY.
I had the lobster Benedict and it was scrumptious. The side salad was actually one of my favorite parts, crazy good dressing.
I had a bite of everyone else's dish.
The Steak Sandwich- so savory and the fries were perfectly fried
The brioche fresh toast literally melted in your mouth like butter.
The bowl was harmonious flavors of all the yummy breakfast things.
My coffee was so strong, I just had one cup.
They served birthday ice cream at then which we all shared.
My mother in law had a great birthday brunch.Sunday 23rd November 2025
Justin Shockley5 StarWhat a find at Slay! We started with bacon wrapped scallops that were cooked perfect and had a delicious honey sauce. For dinner we had the bone in pork chop that was a 10/10 in every way. I enjoyed the orecchiette shrimp pasta that was layered in flavors and delicious shrimp. 10/10 for atmosphere, food, and service. Hilario was absolutely fantastic in taking care of us. This will be a new regular spot for me as the entire menu is a beautiful mix of dishes that allows you to mix it up.Wednesday 24th December 2025
Daniel Garcia5 StarGreat experience. Fantastic service and amazing tasting food. Our whole table was making "yum" noises when trying our dishes.
We've gone to Park Avenue (at the moment closed restaurant by Chef David Slay) in the past and recently I was talking to my mom about if she wanted to get together to eat for her birthday. She brought up how since Park Avenue wasn't open she'd love to try one of Chef Slay's other restaurants and she selected Slay Hermosa.
We went in for Sunday Brunch and ordered from the breakfast/lunch menu. We ordered the Calamari, Vermont Maple Cinnamon Roll, Breakfast Bowl, Lobster Benedict, Broiche French Toast and Slay Steak Sandwich. The food did not disappoint, and for me, brought back fond memories of the food I once had at Park Avenue.
The front of house staff were great and provided excellent service. Checked on us on a regular basis; Cleared plates when we done; Made sure our drinks were filled. It was a great dining experience.Sunday 16th November 2025
Hannah Gallegos5 StarAbsolutely loved this spot! The food, vibe, and service were all top-notch. We had the calamari and the breakfast burrito
-both were seriously delicious. The calamari was perfectly crispy, and the burrito was super flavorful and filling. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere had that perfect laid-back Hermosa Beach feel. Can't wait to come back for another brunch soon!Wednesday 25th June 2025
The Baseline5 StarThe Baseline: For a sit down upper-scale restaurant is the quality of the food, existence of any unique offerings, quality of the service, and ambiance of the overall dining experience.
Food: There was not a single dish that we had at Slay Hermosa that wasn’t great. Appetizers were the Fried Calamari and Watermelon Salad and wow to the salad. The Watermelon salad had an incredible white vinaigrette and tajin spice. Get this salad! The Double Smash burger was a solid burger. The entree star was the Pork Chop that was cooked perfectly and the bed of sweet corn risotto made it wonderful. For the finish was the Butter Cake that was warm and dense like I love it. Mixed with the ice cream with berry drizzle and my Cafe au Lait it was a perfect ender to the meal.
Service: Fantastic top notch service that covered us for our visit. We were always asked at the right time if we needed anything. Also we got the best suggestions from our waiter.
Ambiance: Hermosa Beach on a rooftop dining area right at sunset… perfect time to dine and all will be fine. Great setting for a great meal. Didn’t use the restroom but it was getting cleaned when I left. The dining area was clean and the restaurant while compartmentalized is very serviceable.Thursday 7th August 2025
